15 Startup Champions awarded €1.8M to increase online trust with Blockchain

The European Commission’s NGI TrustChain initiative has awarded €1.8M in funding to 15 innovative startups aiming to combat online misinformation and fake identities using blockchain technologies. These startups, from ten different European countries, were chosen from 162 applicants in a highly competitive process and will each receive up to €117,000 in funding.

This marks the third cohort of startups selected by the NGI TrustChain Project, which addresses growing concerns about the impact of political, social, and military conflicts spilling into online spaces by distributing over €4.6M to 43 companies up until now.

These 15 startups are paving the way for a more trustworthy and secure internet. From enhancing personal data sovereignty to creating secure platforms for smart cities, their innovative solutions are focused on restoring confidence in digital public spaces.
