📃 Paper: How DIGITALEUROPE is contributing to the EU-US Trade & Technology Council (TTC)

Earlier this year, DIGITALEUROPE was contributing with concrete ideas and objectives for 2024, offering a clear roadmap, with success indicators for the short and medium term, to each of the Trade & Technology Council's (TTC) working groups (WG).

With digital resilience at the top of the agenda, the steps already taken on the convergence of approaches on Artificial Intelligence, and the promotion of sustainability, remain valid. A firm point is that the TTC’s recognition of the enabling power of digital to cut emissions must be integrated into the EU’s and US’s respective climate action plans.

Specific suggestions are then formulated for each WG: Technology Standards, Secure Supply Chains, ICTS security & competitiveness, Data Governance & Tech Platforms, Export Controls, Global Trade Challenges.

In the paper, they have outlined concrete suggestions for six TTC working groups on shared EU-US policy priorities including standards, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, 6G, data governance, export controls, and global trade challenges with concrete objectives in time for the next TTC meeting.

These TTC working groups are:

  1. Working Group 1: Technology standards
  2. Working Group 3: Secure supply chains
  3. Working Group 4: ICTS security & competitiveness
  4. Working Group 5: Data Governance & Tech Platforms
  5. Working Group 7: Export controls
  6. Working Group 10: Global trade challenges
