Together for free and open web search: OWS.EU Community Meet-Up was a great success!

The recent OWS.EU Community Meet-Up brought together a diverse group of experts and enthusiasts to tackle big questions about the future of web search.

During the #ossym24 conference, the meet-up explored the technical, ethical, legal, and economic challenges of creating accessible, unbiased, and transparent online information by discussing key topics such as infrastructure, sustainability, ethics, and web crawling.

✨For many, it was a rare chance to connect face-to-face, share ideas, and build a stronger community across Europe and beyond.✨

Megi Sharikadze from the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre described the importance of the event:

"As we work to build an open European web search ecosystem, these meet-ups are crucial. They bring us closer together, help us exchange ideas, and attract new allies as we move forward with OpenWebSearch.eu."
