What is NGI Local for Local?

NGI Local for Local is a project under the EU Commission's Next Generation Internet (NGI) initiative. Its mission is to strengthen and support local economies across Europe through innovative technology.

✅Supporting Local Economies with Technology: NGI Local for Local focuses on revitalising European communities by providing digital tools that promote resilience and sustainable growth, empower citizens, and help local businesses thrive.
✅ Introducing Open-Source Local Currencies: One of the project's key elements is the development of open-source local currencies to keep money circulating within the community, boosting local economic activity.
✅ Strengthening Communities: The project aims to build stronger, more self-reliant economies across Europe by supporting local businesses and fostering community engagement.
✅ Collaboration Across Europe: NGI Local for Local is a collaborative effort involving four partners: Centric, Delft University of Technology, Aix-Marseille University, and Kaunas University of Technology.
