The NGI Sargasso funding programme just reached a significant milestone: 25 November 2024 marked the conclusion of the fifth Final Open Call in the series.

✨A record-breaking 104 applications were submitted, making it the most successful call in the programme's history, showcasing an incredible level of interest and dedication to creating a human-centric internet.✨

The numbers speak by themselves:

• Applications poured in from 25 countries, led by France with 16, followed by Spain, Germany, and The Netherlands.
• Startups and SMEs made up the largest share, with 64 applications, showing how entrepreneurial minds are eager to lead the charge in this mission.
• Universities, NGOs, and other organisations also stepped up, offering their ideas for reshaping the digital landscape.

🔥But this is just the beginning🔥

• The NGI Sargasso programme, part of the €4.8 million NGI Initiative, will now focus on supporting these innovators through its OnCampus Programme.
• Looking ahead to 2025, the programme's beneficiaries will gain international exposure at events like 4YFN 2025, the Mobile World Congress startup hub in Barcelona.
