The aim of the summit is to generate a discussion about the challenges and solutions related to the future use of health data, the upcoming European Health Data Space, and many other health data-related issues.
DigitalHealthEurope (DHE) is a H2020 project that provides comprehensive support to the Digital Health and Care Innovation initiative. DHE is currently working on producing actionable recommendations for advancing the Digital Transformation of Health and Care. The recommendations will be presented at the DHE summit.
The project has achieved some important milestones, presented below.
Discussion forum on all aspects of digital health and care: DHE offers a forum for all digital health and care-enthusiast stakeholders who wish to share and learn about health data, technologies, funding opportunities, implementation and scaling-up of digital health and care innovations. Stakeholders can also promote their events or relevant scientific and policy documents. Visit the DHE forum now and engage with peers from across Europe in the digital transformation of health and care.
Funding support: DHE is providing various funding support services to interested stakeholders. Consult the funding database which has been prepared on the basis on the available draft work programmes. On this page, you can also consult some recorded webinars about the new funding programmes. You can also get engaged in finding your right partners and brainstorming about potentially fitting project ideas on the DHE Forum.
Scaling-up of digital health and care solutions – progress on twinnings: DHE organised two call for twinnings in 2020 and 2021.Twinnings are small concrete interventions to facilitate the transfer and implementation of digitally-enabled innovative practices from one region (originator) to another (adopter). Altogether 24 twinning pairs were selected and funded, working together between 5 to 12 months to make this transfer happen. While some twinnings are currently ongoing, others have been completed and offer interesting results. Read the short twinning profiles and their results.
The DHE White Paper on boosting active cooperation between patients and health and care providers identifies a set of key elements deemed crucial to drive digital health uptake with a focus on the role of patients and healthcare professionals:
The white paper will be available on the DHE website shortly.
In the last months DHE has held roundtables dedicated to the three topics: (1) legal challenges in using health data, (2) health data standards and interoperability and (3) cloud technology in health data. Two workshops each were conducted on legal challenges and interoperability, and one workshop focused on cloud technology. Each workshop was attended by experts from related fields to discuss the issue at hand, map the scene, identify crucial points and think about innovative measures to tackle the identified challenges. More details about the discussions in the roundtables can be found in our summary document.
