We'd like to invite the NGI community to participate in The Auxiliary and Bridgit.io’s first-ever design challenge against the infodemic—the deluge of bad information that exacerbates health outcomes during the pandemic.
The Auxiliary is a distributed rapid-response digital marketing agency combating COVID-19 misinformation to save lives. Bridgit.io is a new kind of internet technology building a trust layer over the current web that allows deeper context and crowd-sourced validation.
Together, we’re joining an international effort to fight back against the coronavirus and flatten the curve with the most powerful tools of persuasion available. Humanity needs to throw everything we’ve got at this pandemic. It’s a virus that preys on the very things that make us human—our social nature. That’s a tall order, but that’s exactly why we need you for 2 weekends. We’ll connect you with disinformation experts, medical professionals, and Atlantan communities who will inform the marketing campaigns, technology, and products you design. You can find up-to-date information about our approach and process at infoimmunity.com.
I am excited to announce that we have officially chosen Atlanta as the Spotlight City for InfoImmunity and The Auxiliary’s Infodemic Design Challenge. You and your peers will work with Atlantans to fight misinformation about COVID-19 as they navigate Georgia’s newly-relaxed social distancing policy. This is just the beginning of a global effort. The tools we develop can then be used to fight the virus around the world.
