Through two webinars and a workshop, NGI Zero and the ActivityPub-community will showcase to national and European administrations how the decentralized social networking protocol ActivityPub can help European institutions retake their online presence.

Who is this event addressed to?

  • Interested European and national administration including the European Commission, European Data Protection Supervisor, European Parliament
  • Policy makers notably in relation to platforms, the Digital Service Act and Digital Market Act
  • Recipients of NGI0 Discovery / PET-funding
  • Active representatives of the ActivityPub-community
  • Developers interested in NGI0 and ActivityPub

Co-authors of the official ActivityPub W3C Recommendation, advocates of the ActivityPub-community and developers of the federated universe will engage with representatives of European and national institutions including the European Commission, the European Data Protection Supervisor and European Parliament about the possibilities of federation and how the European Commission can announce important events on the federated universe (also known as the ‘fediverse’).

Two webinars will be held on Monday morning 19, and 26 of April from 10 to 12. A follow-up workshop will be held on Thursday 29 April afternoon from 14.
