Is it possible to create a positive impact on societies through new technologies? How is innovation shaping the social side of technology development? Is this evolution contributing to more inclusive societies or is it conversely intensifying the existing gap? The social implications of technological developments is a crucial topic of the Next Generation Internet. The Internet of tomorrow needs to aim to improve human rights and conditions, rather than the opposite.
The next NGI Talk is proudly hosting Fundaci贸n Cibervoluntarios (Cybervolunteers Foundation) to debate on Best Practices on Digital Transformation with Social Impact. The well-known Spanish NGO and NGI Ambassador will tackle how technological advances are shaping the societies of today, and what are the challenges when it comes to promote a more inclusive and participatory digital environment.
脕ngel Sola, Head of International Programs at Fundaci贸n Cibervoluntarios, will bring us a presentation followed by a debate to identify the best practices of digital transformation with social impact in times of pandemic, and what are the gaps and challenges to overcome. 脕ngel Sola is the Director of International Programs at Cibervoluntarios Foundation, fostering alliances with other organizations to promote the social use of technology to foster citizen's rights, opportunities and participation. 脕ngel coordinates the communication and dissemination area of Horizon 2020, AMIF and Erasmus+ European projects coordinated by Fundaci贸n Cibervoluntarios. He creates, develops and manages branding, image, and creative concepts of the projects from the point of view of social action, NGOs and Digital Social Innovation.
He works and collaborates actively with international partners in the creation of digital solutions at national and European level, always focusing on how technology can change people's lives for good through Digital Skills Training and awareness raising. He has worked for Google, Facebook, the European Commission or the Internet Society, among others.
Angel Sola gives talks at international conferences as a Social Innovation expert related to citizen participation, the Next Generation Internet, the impact of technology in society, inclusion and technological volunteering. He has participated as speaker in events such as 4YFN at the MWC. He holds a Degree in Advertising and Public Relations and a Masters Degree in Institutional and Corporate Communication. Having specialized afterwards in Social Media Strategy and Digital Marketing.
Fundaci贸n Cibervoluntarios is a pioneering organization in technological volunteering, whose objective is to alleviate social gaps, generate social innovation and citizen empowerment, promote Human Rights and the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through the social use of ICT.
Since 2001, Fundaci贸n Cibervoluntarios has been fostering and developing programs focusing on digital transformation with social impact, expanding the rights, opportunities and capacities of thousands in situations of digital vulnerability through the use and knowledge of all kinds of technological tools and Digital Skills.
